About

Filmster Films | The Filmsters

Filmster Films has been birthed into this world by two women on a mission to bring you extraordinary motion pictures. Created in the fall of 2007, FF is interested in producing independent features as well as music videos, commercials, video blogs, and non-broadcast projects.

Alanna Slepitsky (Filmster Films East) - Founder/Producer

By the age of ten, Alanna had already coined herself an aspiring filmmaker, which did not sit well with her Russian parents who came to America in hopes of watching their first born become a doctor or lawyer. But after receiving a B.A. from Brooklyn College in Film Studies with a dual minor in Television Production and English, it was a little too late for that bar exam. With an array of gigs in the Entertainment industry, including 'The Colbert Report,' Plum Pictures and AOL for Kids, there is no denying that this is Alanna's calling. When she is not writing, blogging about her opinions at AccordingToAlanna.com and Snarkotics.com, or filming a plastic bag move with the wind, Alanna can be found at the movie theater with one hand in a bucket of popcorn and the other texting Maegan about how much better the movie could have been if only they were behind it.

Currently, Alanna is working at KidzBop.com and on a feature documentary with independent filmmaker, Jessie Kanevsky (click here for more information on the film).

Maegan Ochoa (Filmster Films West) - Founder/Producer

At the tender age of five while strutting her stuff on the Macy's catwalk, the announcer asked Maegan what her favorite TV show was. She cracked under pressure and shyly blurted out the song "Itsy Bitsy Spider." This prepared her for what would become a career of thinking on her toes. Maegan's repertoire of professional experience includes working with Plum Pictures where the Alanna and Maegan duo all started, 'Requiem for a Dream's' exec. Prod. Ben Barenholtz , assisting thespian Justin Theroux on 'Dedication,' Turn of the Century Films, 'Entertainment Tonight' and Sutton Barth and Vennari.
